Board of Directors

The role of our Board of Directors is to act as a guardian for the solicitation, management, and distribution of funds collected by Lighting Up the Sky for the purpose of reaching the organization's goals. As a starting point, LUTS has a "working" Board. All of our Directors, listed below, also serve as committee leaders.

	Marivel Silva enjoys moving freely about the cabin that is organizational development. Uninterested in politics, she prefers to hone in on building the structure necessary for the success of an organization. She twirls through abstract and concrete thought, and jumps from strategy to tactics as she would Louboutins to sandals. With experience in payroll, tax, HR, accounting, corporate/business development and administration, Silva adds some type-A sasón to the LUTS mix. She is the master Tetris building block manager. The ever passionate idea collector and implementor. The Call-To-Action SINGER pied piper. And she does this all while harnessing the virtual, start-up, nonprofit that is Lighting Up the Sky. 	Shawna Healy is in love with mountains.  She loves climbing them, conquering them and overcoming them - although it's not her style to make mountains out of molehills! She is most blissful hiking the highest peaks in the U.S. or tackling a mountain of a project.    Her passion for knowledge and human connection drives her to teach incarcerated people basic reading and writing skills. Cooking for others is her way of demonstrating love and support. Our LUTS members clamor for team meetings at Shawna's house, just so she'll whip up some of her famous oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. 	Dawn Sebock does not hate fun. In fact , she is interested in most everything that exists in this giant world of ours. Her entertainment producing background combined with corporate consulting work in project management, training and development, change management and business analysis, have rendered her the perfect Communications leader for Lighting Up the Sky. She has media contacts in her back pocket, front pocket and grasped in her sweet little clutches. If there is something interesting happening at LUTS, you can be assured Sebock will get the story out. When she's not writing, reading and tutoring 'rithmatic, Dawn Sebock can be found just about anywhere doing just about anything through her project, MsBehavin Nation: milking a cow at a dairy farm, white water rafting, winning a trophy for her grilled cheese skills or in a flashmob of 3,000 Brides.
